The final LENS Live event of 2026, on Thursday, June 25, might just be the most diverse one yet! In collaboration with not one but two amazing partners: POST and RUIS. Together with them, we’ve put together a program featuring Syrian-Dutch artist Omarleen, who has created a special creative interpretation of our exhibition just for this LENS Live, and Dutch artist Levi Overvest, who weaves LENS’s “Crowds” theme into his performance.
Omarleen
For this evening, POST invited Omarleen to respond to the LENS exhibition through her own work. Omarleen is a Syrian-Dutch sound artist and image researcher based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her practice engages with the realm of imagery, exploring the documentary form and its intricate connections to fiction and desire. Her sound work focuses on improvisation and noise, crafting compositions using field recordings, old cassette tapes, and electronic noise. Her approach intertwines visual and auditory realms through diverse forms such as storytelling.
In response to this invitation by POST, Omarleen will show a new video work on the marginalisation of the self and domination of the selfie, the desire and obsession to be perceived as good, and the desire to be told what's wrong with you by an underpaid service industry worker. Tackling discourses for tickling sensations.
